Russian drone strikes hit Ukraine’s southern city of Odesa overnight, injuring at least 18 people and damaging residential and public buildings. The attacks mark the second strike on the city this week and intensified damage in the coastal hub. Civilians, infrastructure, and emergency services were directly affected by the assault.
Local officials said the worst destruction occurred in the central Prymorskyi district. High-rise and five-storey residential buildings were damaged during the strikes. Fires broke out on upper floors and rooftops, but were later contained by emergency crews.

The head of the regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, confirmed that emergency operations are ongoing. He warned that the number of injured could still change as assessments continue. Among the wounded is a 17-year-old boy, and two victims remain in intensive care.
Ukraine’s air force reported that Russia launched one ballistic missile and 206 drones overnight. It said most drones were intercepted or neutralised, but several still hit multiple locations. Consequently, damage was reported across at least 22 sites nationwide.

Odesa, a major Black Sea port, has faced repeated attacks during the prolonged war. Authorities also reported damage to a kindergarten, shopping centre, hotel, and warehouses. In addition, vehicles, infrastructure, and administrative buildings were heavily affected across the city.
