Eight Chinese involved in human trafficking arrested by FIA

Published on: May 6, 2019 7:18 PM

A gang of Chinese nationals was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday. The gang trafficked Pakistani girls to China after illegal marriages.

This racket was busted after a series of complaints of Chinese that were a part of illegal marriages which trapped young Pakistani girls.

The Deputy Director FIA Jamil Ahmad Khan Mayo told that they arrested eight Chinese nationals from Lahore airport and certain other areas on the allegations of trafficking young women to China after marrying them. The officials also claimed that the Pakistani agents that provided assistance to the Chinese for trafficking the young Pakistani women were also arrested.

These poor women were taken to China and then they were forced into prostitution.

Earlier there were some reports that there are few Chinese mafias operating in Pakistan that are trafficking poor Pakistani women to China through fake marriages and the government also warned people against these mafias.

Soon after the arrests, a statement was issued by the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad regarding the incidents they urged caution against illegal marriage bureaus involved in these marriages to earn extra money.

According to the FIA officials, a Chinese woman was also the part of this racket.
