Tom Cruise opens up about pressure and privilege on ‘mission: impossible’ tour

Published on: May 9, 2025 3:13 PM

Tom Cruise recently arrived in South Korea as part of the global press tour for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. During a press conference, he shared his thoughts on fame, pressure, and privilege. The Hollywood icon got candid about how he views the responsibility that comes with making big-budget films.

Cruise explained, “We have a saying, ‘pressure is a privilege’,” and went on to express how much he actually enjoys carrying that weight. “I enjoy the pressure and the responsibility of making movies,” he said, adding that the demands of his career are something he embraces rather than avoids.

When asked about fear and challenges, Cruise admitted, “Of course, I’m scared at times. But it’s okay to feel those emotions.” He emphasized that he’s never been one to look for the easiest or safest path in life or in his career. Instead, he chooses to face those moments head-on.

The 62-year-old actor also reflected on how fame has shaped his journey. Rather than shying away from the spotlight, Cruise sees it as an opportunity to deliver something meaningful to audiences. His comments highlighted his long-standing commitment to filmmaking and the intense work behind blockbuster productions.

The press event also featured cast members Pom Klementieff, Greg Tarzan Davis, Hayley Atwell, and Simon Pegg. Director and co-writer Christopher McQuarrie joined the team as they promoted what may be the most ambitious film in the Mission: Impossible franchise yet.
