PIA launches direct Lahore-to-Paris flights starting june 18

Published on: May 19, 2025 2:21 PM

LAHORE – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a new direct flight route from Lahore to Paris, set to begin on June 18, 2025. This new service will operate once a week and is part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to expand international connectivity and improve passenger convenience.

According to a PIA spokesperson, this new route complements the existing Islamabad–Paris flights, which currently run twice a week. With the Lahore–Paris addition, the national carrier hopes to offer more flexible travel options for Pakistani passengers heading to Europe.

The airline stated that the new service is expected to enhance travel comfort and increase foreign exchange earnings for the country. It marks another step forward in PIA’s strategy to revive and grow its international network after years of limited operations.

Earlier this year, PIA successfully resumed its European flights following a four-and-a-half-year suspension. The first resumed flight, PK-749, flew from Islamabad to Paris with 330 passengers and 14 crew members on board. The event was celebrated with an inaugural ceremony at Islamabad International Airport.

Top officials, including Aviation Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat, and representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority, were present at the launch. The ceremony highlighted PIA’s renewed commitment to restoring global routes and improving service quality.

Meanwhile, Parliamentary Secretary Zeb Jaffar confirmed that PIA has been generating profit since March 2024. During a National Assembly session, she said the airline had financially recovered and resumed several European routes, including flights to Paris, marking a major milestone in its turnaround.
