The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to appoint Samar Bilour as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA). The decision follows her recent inclusion in the party, marking a major political shift in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where she was previously associated with the Awami National Party (ANP).
This development was confirmed by Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information and Broadcasting, Ikhtiar Wali. He stated that one assembly seat would be given to Samar Bilour, and another to the wife of MPA Jamshed Mehmand.
Samar Bilour, known as a prominent figure of the ANP and a member of the well-known Bilour political family in Peshawar, officially joined PML-N after a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Her move is seen as a symbolic gain for the PML-N in a region historically influenced by the ANP.
The party aims to strengthen its position in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ahead of future elections by welcoming influential political figures. The nomination of Samar Bilour is expected to bring both visibility and voter confidence to the party in the region.
With this step, PML-N continues its strategy of integrating experienced political personalities to build a stronger parliamentary presence and challenge rivals in key constituencies.
