BOP Launches Shariah-Compliant Leasing for JAC T9 Hunter

Published on: August 25, 2025 2:52 PM

The Bank of Punjab (BOP) has introduced a Shariah-compliant financing option for the JAC T9 Hunter, offering customers the chance to lease the versatile pickup through the Islamic Car Ijarah model. This financing scheme is designed to enable halal vehicle acquisition, with a delivery window of just 45 days after booking.

Known for its rugged diesel engine and upscale interior, the JAC T9 Hunter appeals to both commercial users and lifestyle buyers. As interest in pickup trucks grows in Pakistan, especially among consumers who might otherwise consider a compact SUV or sedan, this model enters a segment ripe for diversification.

Highlights of the Offer:

  • Financing Mode: Islamic Car Ijarah (lease-to-own, Shariah-compliant)
  • Bank Partner: Bank of Punjab
  • Tax Incentive: 530,250/- in Withholding Tax paid by BOP
  • Delivery Timeline: 45 days post-booking
  • Eligibility: Open to salaried individuals and business owners who meet BOP’s criteria
  • Validity: Offer open until September 7, 2025
  • Price: 10.5 million – includes Rs. 350,000 NEV tax; excludes 1% CVT and 5% WHT

BOP’s decision to support the JAC T9 Hunter underlines the banking sector’s increasing embrace of Islamic finance in the auto industry. Unlike conventional car loans, the Ijarah model is structured around asset leasing, with ownership transferring at the end of the lease period.

While this arrangement presents a valuable opportunity for buyers seeking Shariah-compliant financing, prospective customers are advised to review full ownership costs, including leasing terms, final buyout price, and related insurance requirements.

As multipurpose vehicle demand rises in the country, BOP’s offer adds a new dimension to vehicle financing—blending ethical finance with market demand.
