Nawaz Sharif travels to London for two-week medical visit

Published on: September 15, 2025 5:59 PM

Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif departed from Lahore to London on Monday morning. He boarded a foreign airline flight for the two-week visit. According to family sources, this trip is focused on his ongoing medical treatment. Doctors in the UK will conduct routine check-ups and health monitoring during his stay.

A few days before his departure, Nawaz Sharif visited the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences in Lahore. He complained of neck and muscle pain, prompting doctors to conduct an MRI scan. His medical team advised further evaluation abroad, which led to the current London trip. The tests are part of his regular health review.

This marks Nawaz Sharif’s second visit to London for medical reasons in recent months. He previously traveled to the UK in June for consultations. His family confirmed that his current condition is stable, but close monitoring is necessary. The two-week schedule may extend based on medical advice.

Meanwhile, his absence from Pakistan comes amid ongoing political developments. Party leaders say Nawaz Sharif remains engaged and informed. Despite being abroad, he is expected to stay in touch with party affairs and senior leadership. No political meetings are currently scheduled during his visit.

Chief party spokespersons emphasized that Nawaz Sharif’s health is the top priority. They also urged the public not to speculate about the trip. As the former premier undergoes treatment, his supporters continue to express hope for his speedy recovery. Updates will be shared as needed, according to the family.
