Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held important meetings with world leaders at the Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha. He met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and several others. These meetings focused on the worsening situation in Gaza and Israel’s recent actions. Leaders exchanged views and stressed the need for unity among Muslim countries.
The summit was called after Israel’s airstrike on Doha and growing violence in Palestine. During talks with the Saudi Crown Prince, Prime Minister Shehbaz condemned Israeli aggression. He said these attacks aim to sabotage peace efforts in the Middle East. The leaders agreed on the need for an immediate ceasefire and protection of Palestinian civilians.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also met the Emir of Qatar, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and the presidents of Egypt and Tajikistan. His meeting with President Abbas was warm and emotional, reflecting Pakistan’s strong support for Palestine. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and justice for the Palestinian people.
Speaking at the summit, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani condemned Israel’s attack on Doha. He said the strike was a major act of aggression and a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty. He warned that Israel’s “Greater Israel” agenda poses a serious threat to global peace. He also accused Israel of committing genocide and war crimes in Gaza.
Over 50 leaders attended the emergency summit. They strongly condemned Israel’s actions and called for international accountability. The summit ended with calls for an immediate end to violence, protection of civilians, and renewed efforts for lasting peace in the region.
