Pakistan blames India for sponsoring terrorism at UN

Published on: September 28, 2025 11:41 AM

Pakistan strongly responded at the United Nations General Assembly, accusing India of sponsoring terrorism inside its borders. Diplomat Mohammad Rashid rejected Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar’s allegations, saying such claims were baseless, repetitive, and contrary to facts. He emphasized that Pakistan has sacrificed over 90,000 lives in its decades-long fight against terrorism, which clearly proves its seriousness and commitment to eliminating militancy from the region.

Rashid stressed that India continues to run covert cross-border terrorist networks, using proxy elements to conduct attacks inside Pakistan. He recalled the arrest of Indian naval officer and RAW agent Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was caught red-handed carrying out terrorism and sabotage. According to him, India has become a hub of state terrorism, promoting hatred and prejudice instead of contributing towards regional stability and cooperation. He urged world leaders to recognize these destabilizing actions.

Moreover, Rashid accused India of grave human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir, where extrajudicial killings, fake encounters, arbitrary detentions, and enforced disappearances have become routine practices. He stated that India portrays these crimes as counterterrorism measures, while in reality they are targeted campaigns against innocent people. Such actions, he said, represent state terrorism in its clearest form and expose India’s double standards on peace and justice.

The Pakistani diplomat also condemned India’s immediate blame on Pakistan for the Pahalgam incident without any evidence or investigation. He reminded that Pakistan not only condemned the attack but also offered an independent probe, which India flatly rejected. Instead, under the pretext of the incident, Indian forces launched aggression against Pakistan from May 7 to 10, killing 54 civilians, including 15 children and 13 women, in clear violation of international law.

While warning of dangerous precedents being set by India’s actions, Rashid highlighted that Pakistan exercised its right to self-defense with a measured response. He stated that such reckless behavior by India threatens peace and undermines global norms, which should alarm the international community. He reiterated that South Asia’s 1.9 billion people deserve peace, prosperity, and stability, which can only be achieved through sincerity, dialogue, and mutual respect.

Concluding his address, Rashid reaffirmed that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation determined to counter terrorism in all forms. He said progress in the region requires India to abandon its aggressive policies and instead embrace diplomacy. Genuine peace, he stressed, will only come when India chooses dialogue over hostility and cooperation over conflict.
