Muslim Nations Welcome Hamas Response to Trump Plan

Pakistan, other Muslim countries welcome Hamas response to Trump's Gaza peace plan

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Ministers from eight Muslim countries — Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Qatar, and Egypt — have issued a joint statement welcoming Hamas’ positive response to US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace proposal.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the ministers praised President Trump’s call for Israel to halt its bombardment of Gaza and his emphasis on implementing the proposed prisoner exchange deal.

The joint communiqué described Hamas’ move as “a step in the right direction” toward achieving a comprehensive ceasefire and addressing the deepening humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave.

The statement also highlighted Hamas’ readiness to hand over Gaza’s administration to a technocratic interim committee, paving the way for political stability and reconstruction. “Pakistan welcomes Hamas’ response to the Trump peace plan and urges swift action to end violence in Gaza,” the Foreign Office said.

The ministers called for immediate talks to finalise the peace framework and urged all sides to agree on a mechanism for implementation without delay.

They emphasised the urgent need to end hostilities, ensure humanitarian aid delivery, and prevent further displacement of Palestinian civilians.

The statement reiterated that the protection of civilians must remain a top priority and warned against any action that could endanger Palestinian lives.

The ministers also pressed for the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza, unity between Gaza and the West Bank, and a reliable security mechanism ensuring complete withdrawal of Israeli forces and the rebuilding of Gaza.

Concluding the statement, the ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution, which remains the cornerstone of stability in the Middle East.
