Pakistan and Malaysia have agreed to expand cooperation in trade, development, and technology. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced this during his official visit to Malaysia. He met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for high-level talks. Both leaders agreed to work together on development projects. They emphasized the importance of combining their countries’ skills for shared growth.
During a joint press conference, Prime Minister Sharif praised the warm welcome he received. He called Malaysia his second home. He noted that the people felt familiar and friendly. He also admired Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership and vision. The two leaders discussed economic, political, and international matters in detail. They shared similar views on nearly all major issues.

One of the major outcomes was a trade agreement on halal meat. Malaysia will now import $200 million worth of halal meat from Pakistan every year. Rice imports from Pakistan will also increase. Prime Minister Anwar praised Pakistani workers and students in Malaysia. He highlighted their positive role in Malaysia’s development.
The two leaders agreed to promote cooperation in IT, artificial intelligence, engineering, and education. They also discussed investments in infrastructure and digital economy. Prime Minister Sharif stressed learning from Malaysia’s success in technology. He said both countries could benefit by sharing experiences and resources. Anwar Ibrahim supported this vision and welcomed more collaboration.
