A Jaffar Express attack injured seven passengers after an explosion derailed four bogies near Humayoon town in Shikarpur on Tuesday morning. The train was traveling from Peshawar to Quetta when the blast occurred around 8:15am. Local authorities quickly reached the site and shifted the injured passengers to Shikarpur Civil Hospital. Officials confirmed that no deaths occurred and all seven injured were now in stable condition.
Federal Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi accused India of being behind the repeated Jaffar Express attacks. He said these incidents were acts of terrorism carried out by “Indian proxies” who could not accept their defeat in previous conflicts. The minister vowed that train operations between Punjab and Balochistan would continue despite such cowardly attempts to spread fear.

According to the Shikarpur deputy commissioner, repair work on the damaged railway track began immediately after the explosion. Four seriously injured passengers, including railway staff and security personnel, were transferred to a military hospital for treatment. Authorities arranged alternative transport for the remaining passengers to safely reach their destinations.
The Tuesday blast marked the seventh Jaffar Express attack this year. The deadliest occurred in March when terrorists hijacked the train and killed 21 passengers. Since then, several smaller explosions have targeted the train, raising serious concerns about rail safety. The minister, however, assured that new security measures would be implemented to protect passengers and rail staff.

Ending his statement, Mr. Abbasi praised the bravery of railway workers and passengers who continued to travel on the Jaffar Express despite repeated threats. He said such attacks could not break the spirit of the Pakistani nation. The government, he added, would strengthen rail security to prevent any future Jaffar Express attack and ensure public safety on all routes.
