Pakistan Rejects Ceasefire Request from Afghanistan After Border Clashes

Published on: October 12, 2025 10:20 AM

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has rejected Afghanistan’s request for a ceasefire following intense cross-border clashes, security sources confirmed on Sunday.

According to reports, Pakistan Army’s retaliatory operations are continuing with full force after unprovoked firing from Afghan posts late Saturday night. The strikes have targeted Afghan positions that were providing support to militants along the frontier.

Security sources said Pakistan will continue its operations until all terrorist threats are eliminated. In the latest developments, another Afghan post was destroyed along the Kurram border, while the Kharlachi Sector saw effective strikes on multiple enemy positions.

Afghan camps in Duran Mela and Turkmanzai were also obliterated, and the Shaheedan post in Balochistan’s Baramcha sector was completely demolished. Footage from the area showed destroyed posts and retreating Afghan troops.

Reports indicate that Kharchar Fort, a key base for the Khawarij terrorist network, was also destroyed, along with the Jandosar post, as Pakistan’s precision fire dismantled hostile infrastructure.

Officials emphasized that Pakistan’s response remains targeted and restrained, focusing only on Afghan posts aiding external militant groups. The army’s operations, they added, are designed to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty while avoiding civilian harm.

Pakistan reiterated that it would not tolerate cross-border aggression and would continue acting decisively against all militant threats emanating from Afghan territory.
