PM Shehbaz leaves for Saudi Arabia to attend Future Investment Initiative

ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Saudi Arabia on Monday to represent Pakistan at the Ninth Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) in Riyadh, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The visit comes at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The premier is leading a high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and advisers Tariq Fatemi and Bilal Bin Saqib.

The FII9 summit, themed “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth,” will bring together global leaders, investors, and innovators to discuss opportunities in innovation, sustainability, economic inclusion, and emerging geopolitical trends.

According to the Foreign Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz will hold meetings with Saudi leadership to discuss enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and human resource development. The talks will also cover regional and global issues of mutual concern.

On the sidelines of the event, the premier is expected to meet with world leaders and heads of international organizations to promote Pakistan’s investment potential and its vision for sustainable growth under the “Think, Exchange, and Act” framework.
