Court orders removal of Swati’s name from block list

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday directed the authorities to remove the name of PTI Senator Azam Swati from the block list. ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulkarnain heard the petition filed by Azam Swati. He argued that he was in jail at the time of registration of the case and his name was included in the block list only to prevent him from going abroad. During the yesterday’s hearing, the court accepted Azam Swati’s application after hearing the arguments. Separately, an Anti-Terrorism Court extended interim bail of PTI leader and former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser in the Sangjani protest case. ATC Judge Abual Hasanat Muhammad Zulqarnain extended the interim bail of Asad Qaiser. During hearing, arguments could not be advanced on Asad Qaiser’s pre-arrest bail application. The court directed the lawyers to present arguments at the next hearing and adjourned the hearing of the case till November 17. It may be noted that a case had been registered against PTI leader Asad Qaiser in Sangjani police station. Moreover, anti-Terrorism Court extended the interim bail of Imaan Mazari, Hadi Ali Chatha and other lawyers in the case of alleged altercation and violence with President High Court Bar Wajid Gilani. ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulkarnain heard the case. The lawyers of the accused could not present arguments during the hearing yesterday, on which the court directed the investigation officer to complete the supplementary investigation. The court directed the lawyers of the parties to present arguments at the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till November 3. A case has been registered against Iman Mazari and others at the Secretariat Police Station. Anti-Terrorism Court granted pre-arrest bail to Faisal Amin Gandapur, brother of PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur, in two cases. ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulkarnain granted interim bail against bonds of Rs 5,500 each and issued notices to the parties. The court adjourned the further hearing of the case till November 24. Cases have been registered against Faisal Amin in Sangjani and Secretariat Police Stations.
