Islamabad court extends pre-arrest bail for Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi

Published on: October 28, 2025 4:34 PM

ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad district and sessions court on Tuesday extended pre-arrest bail for PTI chief Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi. The extension lasts until November 25. It prevents their arrest in five ongoing cases, including the high-profile May 9 incident. This decision provides temporary relief amid mounting legal pressure.

The hearings were conducted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka. Both Khan and Bushra Bibi were granted bail in all five cases. These cases involve alleged submission of fake receipts and accusations related to May 9. The bail ensures that they will remain out of custody while legal proceedings continue.

During the hearing, officials from Adiala Jail failed to respond to the court’s showcause notice. The judge emphasized that Imran Khan must appear in the next hearing. He may attend either physically or via video link. This step ensures the court maintains oversight of the proceedings.

Imran Khan faces multiple legal challenges, including attempted murder charges and accusations linked to the May 9 incident. Bushra Bibi is involved in a case alleging fraudulent receipts. These cases have drawn widespread media attention and political debate. Supporters and critics alike are closely following the developments.

The court adjourned the hearing until November 25. This extension temporarily shields the couple from arrest. Meanwhile, legal teams prepare for upcoming proceedings. The situation remains a key political and legal focus in Pakistan.
