Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered strict action against anyone renting property to foreigners, including Afghans. Officials must register FIRs immediately. This decision comes amid rising concerns over illegal residency and security. The government aims to ensure compliance across all districts.
During the sixth consecutive law-and-order meeting, CM Sharif directed mosques to announce the identification of illegally residing foreigners. She also requested daily reports on rentals for houses, shops, factories, hotels, and petrol stations. Authorities will monitor all property rentals to ensure full transparency and accountability.

Patwaris, numberdars, and SHOs are now responsible for reporting foreign tenants. Field surveys will identify illegal residents in every district. Legal action will also target foreigners working without permits, including Afghans employed illegally in Pakistan.
Officials confirmed 45 holding centers have been set up across Punjab for Afghan nationals. Authorities provide food and transport to Torkham border. Advanced facial recognition technology will identify illegal residents efficiently. This initiative aims to balance security with humanitarian support.

The meeting also addressed illegal weapons, extremist social media activity, and school regulations. CM Sharif emphasized punishing responsible individuals while protecting innocent citizens.
