Abida Parveen’s team confirms she is “perfectly healthy”

Published on: October 31, 2025 11:18 AM

KARACHI – The management team of legendary Sufi singer Abida Parveen has firmly denied viral social media rumours about her health, labelling the claims as “baseless” and “irresponsible.”

The clarification came through a detailed Instagram story posted on Parveen’s official account to reassure her fans and counter the wave of misinformation circulating online. “Hello, everybody! We have posted about it before, but it seems like it needs to be reiterated. Abida Ji is perfectly healthy and well, Alhamdulillah,” the statement read.

The denial followed a week of widespread speculation, with several unverified posts alleging that Parveen was battling a serious illness, including false claims about her being denied medical treatment. Her management expressed frustration over how quickly such unconfirmed reports gained traction, particularly criticising certain media outlets for sharing unverified information.

“The rumours spreading on social media lately have blown out of proportion,” the statement continued. “Well-known media outlets have been reporting on news without confirmation and absolutely no substantial proof.” The team urged journalists and fans alike to practice responsibility and verify facts before sharing them further.

In closing, Parveen’s representatives thanked fans for their concern and love, while urging news platforms to take down all unverified reports regarding her health. “We greatly appreciate your concern, but please verify the information you receive on social media instead of peddling it forward with no authentication,” the post added. The team concluded by assuring followers that Abida Parveen remains in good health and continues to cherish the prayers and support of her admirers.
