QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Friday reaffirmed his government’s resolve to modernize the provincial police force and equip it with advanced training and weapons to effectively combat terrorism and ensure lasting peace in the province.
During his visit to Sohbatpur, CM Bugti met the families of SHO Lutaf Ali Khosa and Constable Muhammad Azeem, who were martyred in an armed clash with terrorists in Bhag Nari area of Kachhi district. He offered fateha and expressed deep sympathies with the bereaved families, paying tribute to the martyrs’ bravery.

“The officers and personnel of Balochistan police and security forces are laying down their lives for the safety of the people,” Mr Bugti said, assuring that the provincial government would stand by their families at every step.

The chief minister announced several measures to honor the fallen heroes, including the construction of a road to the martyred SHO’s house, employment for his sons in the police department, and naming the village’s basic health unit and school after the martyrs.
He said important decisions had recently been made to strengthen police capacity, including integrating the Levies force into the police to take decisive action against terrorism and crime. “Instead of surrendering to the terrorists, they fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom — upholding the centuries-old Baloch traditions of courage and honour,” he added.

CM Bugti emphasized that the provincial government and security apparatus would remain fully mobilized until the complete eradication of terrorism. “The sacrifices of the people and forces of Balochistan will not go in vain,” he said.
The visit was attended by Provincial Minister Sardarzada Faisal Jamali, Parliamentary Secretary Haji Muhammad Khan Lehri, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir Khan, Nasirabad Division Commissioner Salahuddin Noorzai, and Sohbatpur Deputy Commissioner Farida Tareen.
