Lahore court approves three-day remand of NCCIA officials in bribery case
LAHORE — A court on Saturday approved a three-day extension of the physical remand for six officers of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) who were arrested on bribery charges.

The decision, issued by Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo, followed a request from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which is investigating the officers’ alleged involvement in white-collar crime. The FIA also informed the court that a separate inquiry into the officers’ assets beyond known income has been initiated.

While the FIR initially cited Rs9 million, the FIA reported that total recoveries have now exceeded Rs42 million, including Rs11.2 million recovered from one accused, Sarfraz Chaudhry. The prosecution described the suspects as “clever and skilled individuals,” noting that the complex nature of the case requires specialized investigative methods.

The court noted the significance of the recovered amount during the previous three-day remand and held that the suspects could not be released at this stage. The accused are to be presented again in court on November 3.
