Quaid-e-Azam Trophy: Faisalabad, Sialkot record wins, Islamabad-Fata match ends in draw

The fifth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025-26 concluded on Sunday, with Faisalabad and Sialkot recording convincing victories over Peshawar and Abbottabad, respectively, while the match between Islamabad and Fata ended in a draw at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium.

At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad comfortably chased down a 164-run target to defeat Peshawar by seven wickets. Earlier, Peshawar had resumed on 170 for six and were bowled out for 227, with Afaq Afridi claiming a five-wicket haul (5-55). Iftikhar Ahmed top-scored with 61, adding to his first-innings century.

Faisalabad’s reply was led by Atiq-ur-Rehman (65, 56b, 12x4s) and Asim Ali Nasir (62 not out, 96b, 12x4s), who guided their side home in 41 overs. Faham-ul-Haq, whose first-innings 157 anchored Faisalabad’s position in the match, was named player of the match.

At the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, the contest between Islamabad and Fata ended in a draw after a dominant batting display from both sides. Fata had resumed their second innings on 284 for four and were eventually dismissed for 378. Khushdil Shah top-scored for his side with 159, while Mohammad Sarwar Afridi contributed 89.

Set a target of 228, Islamabad reached 160 for one in 34 overs before stumps were drawn. Raja Hamza Waheed remained unbeaten on 76, which included seven fours alongside Shamyl Hussain (69, 91b, 7x4s, 2x6s).

Khushdil Shah was adjudged player of the match for his match-saving century.

At the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Sialkot completed a commanding nine-wicket win over Abbottabad. Abbottabad, who followed on after being bowled out for 92 on the second day, resumed their second innings on 331 for eight and were dismissed for 342. Chasing 51 for victory, Sialkot achieved the target in 9.3 overs with Mohammad Huraira remaining unbeaten on 29. Mohammad Hasnain, who took 5-22 in the first innings and two more in the second, earned the player of the match award. The sixth round of the tournament will commence from Wednesday, November 5.
