KP CM statement against state institutions regrettable: Amir Muqam

Published on: November 9, 2025 1:17 AM

Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir Affairs Engr Amir Muqam here on Saturday termed the recent statement by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi against state institutions as regrettable, irresponsible and provocative.

He said hate-filled statements against state institutions cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.

In a statement, Engr Amir Muqam said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa salute the sacrifices of the security forces and the Pakistan Army for peace and stability of the country.

He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deeply respect the eternal sacrifices and blood of the martyrs and termed it in high esteem.

“This reflects the extremist mindset of an individual, not of the people of the province,” he said.

Engr Amir Muqam said such remarks strengthen the enemy’s narrative, adding spreading discord among the people and creating distrust against state institutions is not the conduct of patriotic leadership.

He claimed that spreading hatred in the name of the sanctity of mosques and martyrs is highly condemnable.

Engr Amir Muqam said the Chief Minister KP must remember that his office demands responsibility, seriousness, and national unity and not division and confrontation with institutions.

He said Pakistan Muslim League (N) has a clear stance that peace, development and stability are the true rights of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“As the constitutional head of the province, the Chief Minister should uphold the dignity of his office and choose the path of cooperation with national institutions, not confrontation.”
