Ogra urged to act as diesel supply gaps spread nationwide

Published on: November 14, 2025 6:26 PM

The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) has warned Ogra about diesel shortages in several parts of the country. Dealers claim oil companies are restricting supply to speculate on higher prices. They urge immediate action to prevent a national fuel crisis.

PPDA vice-chairman Nauman Ali Butt said allocated diesel quotas cannot meet current demand. Dealers report repeated cancellations of their diesel orders, worsening the shortage. The association has called on Ogra and the Ministry of Petroleum to enforce prompt supply.

According to the PPDA, some companies anticipate future price hikes and are withholding fuel. This restriction threatens transport, agriculture, and industrial operations across multiple regions. Without intervention, the shortages could severely disrupt daily life and economic activity.

Ogra has been asked to ensure oil companies supply sufficient diesel to all regions. Dealers emphasize that timely action is crucial to protect citizens and stabilize the market. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and may issue corrective directives soon.

With demand for diesel rising steadily, experts warn of long-term impacts if supply remains constrained. Dealers and authorities stress collaboration to ensure fuel reaches consumers without unnecessary delays or artificial shortages.
