Karachi pink bus gets new route and timings for women

Published on: November 15, 2025 3:26 PM

Karachi’s women-only Pink Bus Service will run a new route from Abdullah Chowk to Numaish starting November 17. The service introduces dedicated travel timings to make commuting safer and easier for women. Early passengers enjoyed free rides during the inauguration ceremony.

Provincial Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that buses will operate at three specific times: 8am–9am, 1pm–2pm, and 5pm–7pm. The service prioritizes women’s comfort and safety during travel across the city. Security measures include trained staff and tracking systems on all buses.

The Sindh Government plans to expand the Pink Bus Service to additional areas in the near future. Minister Memon said the service helps women commute safely for education, work, and personal errands. He called it a meaningful step toward safer urban mobility for women.

The Pink Bus fleet grew last year with 18 new buses, making it an instant hit among Karachi women. The fare is set at Rs50, while girls under five travel free. The service offers a reliable and affordable transport option for women in the city.

The government also announced the second phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme, aimed at improving women’s mobility and independence. Both initiatives reflect Sindh’s commitment to empowering women in transportation and urban life.
