DG ISPR warns against rumors on Faiz Hamid court martial

Published on: November 25, 2025 5:03 PM

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani military spokesperson Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has called for restraint regarding speculation on former DG ISI Faiz Hamid’s court martial. He emphasized that the proceedings are part of a legal process and any decision will be communicated publicly once finalized. The DG warned against social media narratives spreading misinformation.

He said speculation over the court martial is inappropriate. Social media accounts operating from abroad are promoting narratives against the state. Clarity will come only through the judicial process, not online commentary. Lt-Gen Chaudhry urged the public and media to rely on official statements.

Addressing regional concerns, he clarified that Pakistan had not attacked Afghanistan. The military focuses solely on counterterrorism operations, and all operations are conducted transparently. He stressed that the Afghan administration must act against terrorists operating from its territory. Without verifiable action, no meaningful negotiations can proceed.

The DG ISPR highlighted that Pakistan’s National Action Plan is actively implemented in Balochistan. Military representatives are part of committees combating terrorism. He underlined the importance of regional cooperation to ensure peace and security. Clear, accountable steps are necessary for lasting regional stability.

He concluded that speculation and misinformation harm national interests. The public should wait for official updates, and focus should remain on counterterrorism and legal processes. The military reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and rule of law.
