Australia simplifies visa process for Pakistanis

Published on: November 25, 2025 6:49 PM

The Australian High Commission has made applying for visas from Pakistan easier with a new mobile app. Applicants no longer need to visit a biometric center if they have previously provided their biometric information. The app will save time and reduce costs for travelers seeking student, work, or travel visas.

Previously, Pakistani applicants had to visit designated centers for biometrics, which often caused delays. Now, those with valid passports and prior biometric records can apply entirely online. The High Commission emphasized that this change makes the process faster and more convenient for citizens across Pakistan.

High Commissioner Timothy Kane said the app is currently available in 34 countries, including Pakistan. It allows students, professionals, and tourists to submit applications directly from their phones. Kane added that the global rollout of the app will complete by early 2026.

The app also aims to reduce paperwork and streamline approvals. It integrates securely with Australia’s visa system and ensures applicants can track progress online. Officials said this initiative reflects Australia’s commitment to improving services for international travelers.

The High Commission encouraged all eligible Pakistanis to use the app for future visa applications. They highlighted that online submissions help prevent delays and simplify communication. This step is expected to increase visa accessibility and promote travel, education, and work opportunities between Australia and Pakistan.
