Addressing the audience, Punjab Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman stated that “Brain of Lahore” plays a vital role in strengthening students’ academic abilities while also developing creative thinking, analytical skills, self-confidence, and a spirit of healthy competition. He praised The Trust School for maintaining strong educational traditions and creating an environment that supports the grooming of responsible, capable, and knowledgeable citizens. The Minister highlighted the educational vision of Punjab Chief Minister Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, emphasizing that the Government of Punjab considers education a foundation for progress. He noted that work is underway on the largest school construction and rehabilitation initiative in Punjab’s history, aimed at developing safe, well-lit, and fully equipped classrooms across the province.

The Minister further stated that Punjab’s pioneering initiative to convert 1,000 public schools to solar energy is progressing swiftly, ensuring an environment-friendly atmosphere and uninterrupted power supply in educational institutions. He added that 100 Education Development Units are being set up to enhance school monitoring, teacher performance, and educational standards. Recruitment of 10,000 new teachers has begun to address staffing needs, while digital tablets are being introduced for transparent, real-time monitoring of schools. He also highlighted the development of 100 CM Schools in Lahore, which feature modern architecture and solar-powered infrastructure, ensuring equal access to quality education. In addition, he said that the 500 Girls Schools Upgradation Programme reflects the government’s commitment to empowering girls through better access to high school and college-level education.

During the ceremony, prizes were awarded to outstanding students and teachers.
