Dr Warda murder: 3 suspects arrested in Abbottabad

Published on: December 9, 2025 5:12 PM

ABBOTTABAD: Authorities have revealed new details in the murder case of Dr Warda, confirming that her killing was part of a well-planned scheme.

The District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad, Haroon Rashid, stated that four individuals were involved in the crime, with three already arrested. Dr Warda, who went missing from Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital, was later found dead near the forests of Thandiyan in Abbottabad.

After 4 days of kidnapping in Abbottabad, Dr. Warda has been found brutally murdered.

A doctor abducted from inside her own hospital at DHQ Abbottabad, then killed while the police failed miserably to take any meaningful action for five whole days.

The case now includes charges of kidnapping, murder, and other relevant sections, DPO Rashid added. According to initial findings, the incident was connected to a personal dispute: Dr Warda had given gold to her friend Rida two years ago, which was never returned. On the day of the crime, Rida allegedly took Dr Warda to her under-construction house and handed her over to the suspects — Shamariz, Nadeem, and Aurangzeb.

Following the discovery of Dr Warda’s body, doctors have demanded the formation of a joint investigation team (JIT) to ensure a thorough probe into the case. The victim’s father has also accused the police of corruption, claiming that bribes were involved, and has demanded the arrest of the Station House Officer (SHO) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

Police officials have assured the public that the investigation is ongoing and that legal action will be taken against all individuals involved in the crime. The case has drawn attention amid rising concerns over the safety of medical professionals in the country.

In a separate incident in Karachi, a female doctor, Dr Mishal, reportedly attempted suicide by jumping into a nullah in Scout Colony. The incident occurred late at night under the jurisdiction of Mubina Town Police Station, and eyewitnesses confirmed the event, highlighting growing safety concerns for female doctors nationwide.
