LDA Cracks Down on Illegal Housing Schemes Across Lahore

Lahore authorities launched major operations against illegal housing schemes during the past week. LDA teams dismantled roads, offices, and structures in more than 20 schemes across four major roads. Officials said the actions followed repeated violations of planning rules. They also noted that many schemes continued operations without approval.

The enforcement teams worked with local police to remove infrastructure at Urban Farms, Posh Housing, Tulip Gardens and several sub-divisions. They targeted illegal developments on Sue Asal Road, Raiwind Road and Ferozepur Road. They also acted against Hussain Villas and the Irrigation Cooperative Housing Society. Officers said these schemes violated planning laws and ignored official warnings.

On Bedian Road, the crackdown expanded to more illegal housing schemes. Teams demolished structures in Elite Villas, Royal Garden and many other projects. Officials stated that these areas were marked as army, semi-restricted or green zones. They stressed that no private housing development was allowed there. They said many schemes were already operational despite lacking legal sponsors.

LDA also sealed 95 properties for unpaid commercialisation fees and illegal commercial use. Meanwhile, city administration teams removed 820 encroachments from busy areas. They also took down more than 4,000 illegal advertisement banners and streamers. Officials said the actions aimed to restore public spaces. They added that these violations disrupted movement and created safety risks.

Lahore’s deputy commissioner ordered continuous action against all violators. He warned that legal steps would be taken against anyone resisting operations. He stressed the need to protect footpaths and public passages. Officials said the city must stay free of unauthorized activity for public safety. They promised that the drive against illegal housing schemes will continue.
