Maryam Nawaz Emphasizes Human Rights

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said on Wednesday that protecting human rights is the core vision of PML-N. She emphasized it remains the party’s top priority. The statement was made on International Human Rights Day, celebrated worldwide on December 10.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the first complete charter of human rights was delivered in the Farewell Sermon. She added that Islam is a strong advocate for human rights. “The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave humanity an eternal and universal message,” she said.

The CM said December 10 raises awareness about the importance of human rights globally. She stressed that all individuals have equal rights regardless of race, religion, gender, or status. Respect for human rights, she added, is the foundation of a developed society.

Maryam Nawaz reiterated that promoting human rights reflects PML-N’s vision. She highlighted the government’s focus on education, healthcare, religious freedom, freedom of expression, and basic necessities. The CM said every citizen deserves justice, dignity, and equal opportunities.

The chief minister stressed that love, respect, and tolerance are essential for protecting human rights. She said ensuring basic rights is the hallmark of a civilized society. Safeguarding fundamental rights, she added, is the foremost responsibility of the state.

Maryam Nawaz further stated that the Punjab government has taken practical steps to protect citizens’ rights. These include measures to end forced labor, ensure religious freedom, and provide fair justice. Authorities are committed to preventing discrimination in all sectors.

Finally, the CM said PML-N aims to build a society where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities. She called on society to uphold human rights values. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that collective efforts are necessary to create a just and humane society.
