Punjab schools announce winter break

Published on: December 14, 2025 12:58 PM

The Punjab government has officially announced winter vacations for all educational institutions across the province, aiming to protect students and staff amid intensifying cold weather conditions. The decision applies to both government and private schools, ensuring a uniform academic pause.

According to the notification issued by the School Education Department, winter holidays will begin on December 22 and continue until January 11. However, since January 11 falls on a Sunday, schools will resume regular classes on Monday, January 12, across Punjab.

Furthermore, the notification clearly states that all primary, secondary and higher secondary institutions must remain closed until January 10. Education authorities emphasized that the policy has been introduced purely for health and safety reasons during the winter season.

Parents and students have been advised to carefully note the holiday schedule and plan academic activities accordingly. Meanwhile, school administrations have been directed to strictly follow the announced dates and ensure no violations occur during the vacation period.
