The district administration has fixed the registration fee for kite and string makers for Basant in Lahore. Official sources said that after the Punjab government gave conditional permission to celebrate Basant, the administration has issued clear rules and regulations for kite making, string manufacturing and kite flying associations. The registration fee for string and kite manufacturers will be Rs 1,000 while the registration fee for kite flying associations will be Rs 5,000. Kite and string makers will have to submit Form A for registration while kite flying associations will have to submit Form C. The administration says that the string will be made only from cotton thread, while no more than nine threads will be used in it.
