ADB Loans Pakistan Back Reforms, Budget Support

The Asian Development Bank offered new ADB loans Pakistan needs for reforms and budget support. The offer came during talks in Islamabad. Officials discussed strengthening institutions and improving public finances. The move builds on existing support.

ADB leaders said Pakistan remains a key partner. They noted ADB loans Pakistan already total nearly 17 billion dollars. Overall commitments exceed 43 billion dollars. These include loans, grants, and technical assistance.

Meanwhile, ADB praised Pakistan’s progress under the IMF program. It pledged support for pensions, insurance reforms, and public-private partnerships. Climate resilience and social sectors also remain priorities. Faster project execution was stressed.

The finance minister welcomed the support and urged results-driven cooperation. He highlighted reforms in taxation, energy, and state enterprises. He said delays had weakened past development impact. The government aims to improve delivery.

Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in coming years. ADB loans Pakistan will focus on impact, accountability, and private investment. Officials plan close coordination beyond 2026. The partnership aims for inclusive and sustainable growth.
