Agri reforms, farmers welfare govt’s priority: Marriyum

Published on: December 17, 2025 2:06 AM

Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Marriyum Nawaz Sharif, the Agricultural Graduates Internship Program has become a practical guarantee of providing respectable employment to youth after completing their education. She said that reforms in the agricultural sector, promotion of modern technology, and the welfare of farmers are the top priorities of the Punjab government.

She expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the second phase of the Agricultural Graduates Internship Program at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Agriculture University, Multan, along with Provincial Minister for Agriculture Ashiq Hussain Kirmani. On this occasion, appointment letters were distributed among agricultural graduates.

Congratulating the agricultural graduates on behalf of the Chief Minister Punjab, the Senior Provincial Minister said that under a merit-based and transparent system, youth have been given the opportunity to work in the public sector with dignity along with a monthly stipend of Rs. 60,000. In the second phase, an additional 2,000 agricultural graduates are being inducted, while a total of 3,000 graduates have been given the opportunity to serve in the public sector across two phases.

Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that the Chief Minister Punjab has allocated Rs. 66 billion for reforms in the agriculture sector, and the Rs. 250 billion Kissan Card Program is being successfully implemented. Punjab is the only province where wheat is being cultivated on more than 16.5 million acres. Agricultural graduates will provide facilities and support to more than one million farmers.
