Published on: December 19, 2025 7:18 PM

In Lahore, an unidentified man climbed a crane at the under-construction Punjab Assembly MPA hostels, creating a tense situation as authorities rushed to the scene. The man reportedly demanded a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Assembly staff, security personnel, and rescue officials quickly arrived at the site to assess the situation. Ropes and ladders were prepared as emergency teams coordinated to ensure the man’s safe descent from the crane.

The man had displayed banners supporting Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on the crane. One banner was hung while another waved in the air, signaling his determination and drawing attention from onlookers below.

Rescue 1122 officials initiated negotiations to bring the man down safely. They urged him to descend first, promising that his request for a meeting with the chief minister would be communicated and considered.

The man insisted that he would not come down unless he was granted a meeting with Maryam Nawaz. Meanwhile, authorities continued dialogue, ensuring public safety while trying to resolve the situation peacefully.

As the standoff continued, police cordoned off the surrounding area to prevent civilians from approaching the site. The incident remains under close monitoring, and rescue teams are ready to intervene if the negotiations fail.
