Punjab announces one-month salary as bonus for Christian employees

A grand ceremony was held at Alhamra Arts Council to celebrate Christmas, with Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Punjab, Azma Bokhari, attending as the chief guest. Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab, Shazia Rizwan, Alhamra Chairman Razi Ahmed, and Executive Director Mohammad Nawaz Gondal were also present on the occasion.

Minister Azma Bokhari met with Christian employees and extended warm Christmas greetings. She announced, on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a bonus equivalent to one month’s salary for Christian employees and distributed gifts among them.

During the event, the minister cut the Christmas cake alongside employees and said that Minorities are very close to the Chief Minister’s heart. On the occasion of Christmas, we share the joys of our Christian brothers and sisters equally. Christian employees are our pride, and their services are truly commendable. The Punjab government is utilizing all available resources for the protection and welfare of minorities.

Azma Bokhari further said that Christmas is a festival of love, peace, and harmony. Share your happiness with others, and together we can promote brotherhood and unity in our society.

On the special instructions of Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari, a Christmas ceremony was organized at the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR), Punjab.

On the occasion, DGPR Director General Sheikh Farid Ahmed cut a Christmas cake with Christian employees and extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to them. Senior officers and staff members of the DGPR office were also present at the ceremony.

The DGPR conveyed a special message of Christmas greetings and best wishes to all Christian employees on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Information and Culture Minister Azma Bukhari.

During the ceremony, cheques were also distributed among Christian employees by the DGPR and the Information and Culture Department. Expressing gratitude on receiving the cheques, the Christian employees thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Information Minister Azma Bukhari for the gesture.
