Saba Qamar urges responsibility after ‘Case No. 9’ finale

Published on: January 9, 2026 3:05 PM

Pakistani actor Saba Qamar has called for empathy and responsibility towards women following the conclusion of Geo TV’s drama serial Case No. 9. In a reflective social media message, Qamar highlighted the importance of kindness and respect, choosing a tone of positivity rather than confrontation.

Referencing the drama’s ending as well as recent events in her own life, Qamar wrote, “I have won both cases — Case No. 9 and Case No. 0 (Baseless).” She clarified that her statement was not intended to criticise anyone, but rather to encourage society to rethink how women are treated when accusations and rumours arise.

The actor urged that women should be supported in their success, not subjected to suspicion or character judgement. “Women should be supported in their success, not questioned, disrespected, or brought down by false stories,” she wrote, adding that progress depends on uplifting one another instead of tearing each other down.

Her message echoed themes from Case No. 9, which ended with justice for survivor Sahar after a prolonged legal battle. In the final verdict, the court sentenced the prime accused, Kamran, to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment and ordered further action against those who aided the crime — a resolution that resonated strongly with viewers.

Qamar’s post also followed a recent controversy in which journalist Naeem Hanif publicly apologised for making unverified allegations about the actor during a podcast. The video was later removed, and Hanif admitted his claims were incorrect, while Qamar maintained that no one has the right to make baseless accusations for attention or views.

Reflecting on the broader message, the actor said a woman’s dignity should never be compromised without evidence. “I stood by the truth, and that is why justice prevailed,” she noted, ending her statement with a call for fairness, empathy, and respect.
