Irfan Hayat Bajwa, representing Hamid Khan’s group, won the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) elections president’s seat with 3,559 votes.
Adeeb Aslam Bhinder of Asma Jahangir’s group secured the second position with 3,154 votes, while independent candidate Shahid Jamal Butt came third with 122 votes.
The results of the Lahore Bar Association elections have been announced on Saturday.
After his victory, newly elected president Irfan Hayat Bajwa told supporters that the promises made to lawyers during the election campaign would be fulfilled.
Meanwhile, Mian Tahir Munir and Humayun Zaheer Bhatti won the vice president positions.
Zahid Mahmood Gul secured the vice president Cantt seat, and Asif Kanwal Khan won the vice president Model Town seat.
Malik Fahad Nisar was elected secretary with 4,210 votes, Samina Basra won the joint secretary seat with 4,251 votes, and Zohaib Khan secured the finance secretary position with 4,973 votes.
Additionally, Nauman Goraya was elected secretary library with 1,865 votes. Supporters of the winning candidates celebrated inside the Bar Hall, performing bhangra to the beat of drums.
In a historic first for the Multan Bar, Syeda Bushra Naqvi was elected president of the District Bar Association Multan in the annual elections. Naqvi, who is affiliated with the Pakistan Peoples Party, won with a significant margin.
According to unofficial results, Bushra Naqvi secured 1,282 votes, defeating her rival presidential candidate Chaudhry Muhammad Afzal Jutt, who obtained 973 votes.
For the seat of vice president, Naeem Arain was declared successful with 919 votes. His opponents Sadiq Ansari secured 444 votes, Sheikh Shoaib Amjad 440 votes, and Arshad Gujjar 426 votes.
For the post of general secretary, Malik Saadat Hussain won with 1,170 votes, while his closest rival Afzal Shahid received 1,110 votes after a tough contest.
Nagheena Muzaffar Haraj was elected joint secretary with 1,356 votes, defeating Noreen Ashraf, who obtained 861 votes. Raoof Malezai became finance secretary with 1,551 votes, while Muhammad Ali secured 654 votes.
For the seat of library secretary, Amara Tahir Baloch won with 849 votes. Her opponents included Mian Khalid Bhatti with 684 votes, Rana Faisal Azhar with 373 votes, and Farhan Ahmad Qureshi with 335 votes.
Earlier, ten members Ejaz Ahmad Ansari, Javed Iqbal Malik, Chaudhry Muhammad Shan Sahu, Syed Muhammad Zulfiqar Bukhari, Syed Nadeemuddin Qureshi Hashmi, Adeel Ahmad Khalid, Muhammad Ahsan Bhatti, Muhammad Mudasar Hassan, Malik Munir Ahmad and Mian Bashir Ahmad had already been elected unopposed to the executive body.
