Palm oil deals strengthen Pakistan-Indonesia ties

Pakistan and Indonesia signed agreements to boost palm oil trade and economic cooperation. The deals aim to strengthen bilateral ties and expand trade links. The agreements follow long-standing diplomatic relations and recent high-level engagements.

The agreements were concluded at events held in Islamabad and Karachi. Indonesian and Pakistani officials, including trade ministers and diplomats, attended the ceremonies. The Indonesian Palm Oil Association also supported the initiative.

Indonesia’s deputy trade minister said Pakistan is a key partner for her country. She highlighted Pakistan’s market, industry, and consumers as strategically important. Therefore, Indonesia seeks stronger and long-term trade engagement with Pakistan.

Indonesia’s ambassador said bilateral ties have entered a strategic and future-oriented phase. He noted palm oil remains a core pillar of trade. However, he stressed the need for broader cooperation and balanced economic relations.

GAPKI’s chairman said efforts are underway to ensure stable and responsible palm oil supply to Pakistan. Three major agreements were signed, including a joint trade commission. Both sides also explored cooperation in refining, halal certification, sustainability, and port logistics.
