Balochistan to launch one-window business facilitation centre

Published on: January 17, 2026 10:06 AM

QUETTA: The Balochistan government is set to unveil a Business Facilitation Centre (BFC) as part of its broader Digitisation Programme, aiming to streamline investment procedures and improve the ease of doing business in the province.

Officials said the soft launch will take place on Jan 21 at the Sikandar Jamali Auditorium in the Civil Secretariat. The initiative is designed to provide a one-window platform for new entrepreneurs, investors and industrialists seeking to establish or expand operations, consolidating key government services under a single roof.

According to the provincial administration, the BFC will offer access to permits, registrations, licences and other mandatory documentation currently processed through various departments. Authorities expect the model to reduce delays, minimise administrative hurdles and increase clarity for applicants navigating the business regulatory landscape.

Government representatives said the system has been made fully digital, allowing real-time tracking of applications and files submitted through the centre. The digital design is meant to enhance transparency and discourage discretionary delays, while enabling faster coordination between departments responsible for approvals.

Officials believe the initiative can help boost investor confidence at a time when provincial authorities have been actively trying to attract domestic and foreign investment in mining, services and manufacturing. The Digitisation Programme seeks to modernise governance processes and lower transaction costs for businesses, which stakeholders have long cited as an impediment to growth in Balochistan.

While the BFC marks a step toward reform, observers note that sustained implementation, inter-departmental coordination and continued digital infrastructure upgrades will determine long-term results. Provincial officials maintain that the centre represents a meaningful shift away from manual paperwork and procedural bottlenecks toward a more transparent and predictable business environment.
