Sindh govt sets up helpline for information on plaza fire

The Sindh government has set up a helpline for the information related to the Gul Plaza fire incident and for public convenience.

Any kind of information or reports of missing persons related to the Gul Plaza fire can be shared with the Deputy Commissioner South at the numbers 0313-5048048, 021-99206372, and 021-99205625.

The public has also been advised to provide information regarding missing persons from the incident on these same numbers.

Chief Secretary (CS) of Sindh Syed Asif Haider Shah on Sunday visited the site of fire incident of Gul Plaza shopping mall. He reviewed the ongoing rescue operation at Gul Plaza.

Deputy Commissioner South and Rescue 1122 briefed the Chief Secretary Sindh on the measures being taken to control the fire. The Chief Secretary directed that the rescue operation be further accelerated. He also ordered the deployment of all available fire tenders and additional rescue personnel.

The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Government of Pakistan) for Sindh Affairs, Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari, visited the fire-affected Gul Plaza building on Sunday and reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief operations.

During the visit, he met the affected families and expressed deep sorrow and solidarity over the tragic incident.

Conveying a special message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari said that the federal government and the entire nation stand shoulder to shoulder with the affected people in this hour of grief. The prime minister expressed profound sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

The spokesperson said that the prime minister has issued clear instructions to further expedite rescue and relief efforts and directed all relevant institutions to work in close coordination to save more lives and ensure immediate assistance to the affected people.

Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari emphasized that human lives are the most valuable, adding that the government was utilizing all available resources and would not leave the victims of this tragic incident alone under any circumstances.
