Pakistan urges talks amid Iran-US tensions

Pakistan raised alarm as Iran-US tensions surged after fresh US threats. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Iran’s foreign minister on Thursday. He stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable solution.

According to the foreign office, Dar expressed concern over the fast-changing regional situation. Both leaders agreed to stay in close contact as developments unfold. Pakistan again called for restraint to avoid further escalation.

Meanwhile, Washington increased its military presence by moving several warships toward the Gulf. President Donald Trump warned Iran of severe consequences without renewed negotiations. As a result, fears of military confrontation have grown.

However, Iran rejected the US threats and vowed a strong response to any attack. Iranian forces were placed on high alert across key areas. Officials warned that conflict could disrupt regional stability and major sea routes.

Overall, Pakistan reiterated that coercion would only deepen tensions in the Middle East. Islamabad said sustained diplomacy offers the only path to peace. The Dar-Araghchi call highlighted Pakistan’s continued regional engagement.
