Operation ends, peace push intensifies in Balochistan

Published on: February 1, 2026 1:26 PM

Security forces have concluded a large counter-terrorism operation across Balochistan after coordinated attacks hit multiple districts, killing 133 terrorists while 15 security personnel and 18 civilians were martyred.

According to official details, militants launched near-simultaneous assaults in Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni, aiming to spread fear and disrupt daily life.

In response, security forces and law enforcement agencies moved swiftly, launching clearance and sanitisation actions that stopped further civilian harm and protected key infrastructure during prolonged and intense encounters.

During operations in Awaran and nearby areas, forces killed 92 terrorists, including three suicide bombers, while earlier actions in Panjgur and Harnai eliminated 41 more linked militants.

Meanwhile, intelligence findings confirmed that handlers operating from outside Pakistan directed the attacks, as authorities vowed to identify facilitators and continue operations under Azm-e-Istehkam to restore lasting peace.
