Afridi, speaking to the media after the meeting, described it as a necessary step for his province amid financial and security challenges. He expressed condolences over recent attacks in Balochistan and condemned terrorism unequivocally, noting that “terrorism has no province, country, or religion.”

The discussion covered pending funds under the National Finance Commission (NFC), the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC), and Net Hydel Profit payments. Afridi said KP had received Rs604 billion of the Rs658.4 billion allocated under the NFC, leaving a shortfall of Rs54.4 billion, and emphasized the need for the full release of outstanding dues, particularly for the merged districts.

PM Shehbaz assured Afridi of the Centre’s support for KP’s development projects, including infrastructure, education, health, and employment initiatives. The premier directed Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal to coordinate efforts to resolve pending financial issues, with additional meetings scheduled to finalize decisions.

Afridi clarified that the talks focused on administrative and financial matters, with no political discussions held regarding his party or interactions with imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan.
