Apple’s most affordable iPhone coming soon

Published on: February 6, 2026 6:45 PM

Apple is preparing to launch its cheapest iPhone of the year in February, according to recent reports. The device is expected to be called the iPhone 17e. Sources suggest Apple will unveil the phone on February 19.

Earlier, analysts believed the iPhone 17e would launch in spring, but newer reports indicate an earlier release. Notably, Apple introduced the iPhone 16e on February 19 in 2025. Therefore, the February timeline appears consistent with Apple’s past strategy.

The iPhone 17e is expected to support MagSafe technology, offering up to 25-watt wireless charging. In comparison, the iPhone 16e did not include MagSafe support. However, reports say the overall design will remain similar to last year’s model, without a Dynamic Island front camera layout.

Internally, the device is likely to feature Apple’s new A19 chip. In addition, it may include the second-generation Apple C1x modem and the N1 wireless network chip. Despite these upgrades, most other features are expected to closely resemble those of the iPhone 16e.

The iPhone 17e is expected to start at a price of 599 dollars, keeping it within reach for budget-conscious buyers. As a result, Apple could strengthen its position in the affordable smartphone segment. The early launch may also help boost sales momentum in the first quarter.
