Pezeshkian vows nuclear transparency, invites scrutiny

Published on: February 11, 2026 3:21 PM

Iran is ready to accept full inspections of its nuclear programme, President Masoud Pezeshkian said Wednesday. He repeated that Tehran does not seek nuclear weapons. His remarks come amid rising tensions with the United States and Israel.

Speaking during the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Pezeshkian stressed Iran’s peaceful nuclear intentions. He said the country has consistently rejected the pursuit of atomic weapons. Moreover, he declared that Tehran is prepared for any verification process. He added that Iran has stated this position many times before.

Meanwhile, the statement follows renewed military threats from Washington. The United States and its allies suspect Iran seeks nuclear weapons capability. However, Tehran strongly denies those allegations. Iranian officials insist the programme supports civilian energy needs.

In addition, Iran’s foreign minister recently criticized Israel after nuclear discussions with the United States. Regional tensions have increased as diplomatic talks remain uncertain. Observers believe transparency could help reduce pressure on Tehran. They say verification may influence future negotiations.

The anniversary celebrations featured nationwide events and official speeches. Leaders used the occasion to promote unity and resilience. Nevertheless, the nuclear issue remains central to Iran’s foreign policy. It also affects the country’s economy and global relations.
