The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Punjab province arrested 26 terrorists belonging to various banned organizations during operations in different areas of Punjab in a month, foiling a major terrorist plan.

According to the spokesperson, CTD Punjab conducted 286 intelligence-based operations in different districts of the province to effectively deal with any untoward incident of terrorism, in which 286 suspects were questioned and 26 terrorists were arrested along with weapons, explosives and other prohibited materials.
The arrested terrorists include Irfan, Zaman Ali, Mujahid Ali, Faisal, Shiraz, Neematullah, Osama, Ghulam Yasin, Yasir, etc. These arrested terrorists belong to Fitna-ul-Khawarij and other terrorist organizations. The arrested terrorists belong to Lahore, Sahiwal, Khushab, Mianwali. They are from Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Narowal, Pakpattan.
Explosives 4935 grams, Detonators 19, Safety fuse wire 34 feet, EID bombs 3. Pamphlets of the banned organization, magazines, Prime card, mobile phone and cash have been recovered from the possession of the terrorists.
The spokesperson said that the terrorists had planned to target important buildings in different cities. He added that 25 cases have been registered against the arrested terrorists and further investigation is being carried out.
He said that 4662 combing operations were also conducted with the cooperation of local police and security agencies, 160009 people were checked, 538 suspects were arrested, 516 FIRs were registered and 389 recoveries were made.
