Published on: March 10, 2026 12:56 AM

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday announced establishment of Tump as a new district, describing the move as a key step toward strengthening the administrative structure and improving governance at the local level.

During his visit to Turbat, Sarfraz Bugti officially handed over the notification for the creation of Tump District to Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Energy Mir Asghar Rind. He said the new district would help streamline administrative affairs, accelerate development activities, and ensure government services reach residents at their doorstep.

Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the provincial government is prioritizing the development of remote and underdeveloped areas of Balochistan. He noted that establishing new districts is essential for strengthening the administrative framework and enhancing governance at the grassroots level, enabling authorities to address public issues more effectively.

The chief minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to speeding up development projects across the province, stressing that public welfare initiatives would continue to be implemented on a priority basis to improve living standards.

Several senior members of the provincial cabinet accompanied Bugti at the event, including, Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Provincial Finance Minister Shoaib Nosherwani, Provincial Minister for Revenue Mir Asim Kurd Gello.

Senior officials from relevant government departments were also present.

Mir Asghar Rind thanked the chief minister and provincial government, noting that the creation of Tump District had been a long-standing demand of the local population. He said the decision would improve administrative efficiency, accelerate development initiatives, and make it easier for residents to access essential services.

Asghar Rind added that the move marks an important milestone toward development, prosperity, and better governance in the region, directly benefiting the people of Tump and surrounding areas.
