WASHINGTON — The United States has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information on Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, and several other senior Iranian officials, accusing them of directing activities linked to global terrorism.

The announcement was made by the United States Department of State on Friday under its long-running Rewards for Justice Program, which offers financial incentives for intelligence leading to the capture or prosecution of individuals involved in terrorism.

According to the State Department, the reward covers information on 10 Iranian officials allegedly associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Among those named on the list are Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib.
In its statement, the department alleged that the individuals “command and direct various elements” of the IRGC, which it claims plans, organizes and carries out terrorist activities across the world.
The US government urged individuals with relevant information to share tips through secure communication platforms such as Tor or Signal. It added that those providing credible information may become eligible for financial rewards and relocation assistance as part of witness protection measures.
The announcement comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following the recent conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. Mojtaba Khamenei assumed Iran’s top leadership position after the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a bombing on February 28 during the early stages of the ongoing US-Israeli war against Iran.

US officials say the reward initiative is aimed at gathering intelligence on individuals believed to be responsible for orchestrating militant activities through the IRGC and its affiliated networks.
Iranian authorities have not immediately responded publicly to the announcement. However, the move is expected to further escalate tensions between the two countries as the regional conflict continues.
