The conflict has intensified in recent weeks, with Iran reportedly targeting US bases and assets in multiple countries, including Azerbaijan, while Israel has expanded strikes to other parts of the region, including Lebanon. The developments have raised concerns about a wider regional escalation.

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s consistent position on promoting peace and stability, urging all parties to exercise restraint. President Aliyev reciprocated Eid greetings and appreciated Pakistan’s support during the challenging period.

The two leaders also expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation in various sectors.
